1950's

This is really supposed to be in the background of another art project I'm working on, but I like the way it turned out. I thought I'd go ahead and post it as a stand alone for now. I've been researching a lot of illustration from the 50's, and one artist I found is Earl Oliver Hurst. His stuff is super cute!

I thought I'd try to mimic his character designs and mix it with the rendering style of those cheesy 1950's coke ads.

I hate that the text is framing her teeth! What is the deal with that? Still a cute ad, though.

Colors!

Super quick sketch I did last night. I've always been a little uncomfortable when it came to color, so I decided to just let my color inhibitions go with this one.

Environments

We had to do an environment in my Drawing for Animators class. I rarely do environments, so this was a challenge for me, but I had a lot of fun with it!

Harry Potter

I did a lot of Harry Potter fanart this summer, due to the last movie coming out. Thanks, JKR, for a decade of awesome books and awesome movies.

Caricature Turnaround

This is my Caricature turnaround that I did for my Drawing for Animators class. It was fun but frustrating, since I don't usually do a lot of digital painting. I'm still proud of how it turned out!
